Week 6

Dear everyone,

 

Welcome to Week 6 of ANZ 23 Mobile Things! Don’t worry if you’re a little bit behind (I know I am!) because next week is catch-up week – yay! We hope you are continuing to enjoy the course; we love seeing all the interactions and mutual support you are giving one another – give yourself a big pat on the back.

We hope you enjoyed exploring “Photos + maps + apps” for Week 5; seems this was a topic close to the heart for some of you archives-loving people. Here’s a short list of the major content from last week:

This week we are exploring “Videos – Youtube and Screencasts” – plenty of potential for fun, creativity and education right here!

 

What’s happening this week…

Begin with exploring the Introduction post to “Thing 6: Youtube + Screencasts” by @klfair.

This week your social assignment is to share your favourite library related videos on Twitter, or our Facebook page, and we will compile them into a playlist for the ANZ 23 Mobile Things Youtube channel.

• Tweet them using #anz23mthings #FavVideo hashtags or

• Post to our Facebook wall

• Please do this by Friday so everyone can spend the weekend watching the YouTube playlist

We’re really looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

What should I do this week?

 

• Read the Introduction to Thing 6

• Create a video and upload it to Youtube

• Try making a screencast and uploading it

• If you’re really excited; try a Vine 🙂

• Follow up on the thinking points in the introduction post; some really great ideas there!

• Share your favourite library related video on Twitter or our Facebook page

• Join in our discussions on Facebook and Twitter

 

Coming up… A break!

 

That’s right – week 7 is our “catch-up week” so you have a chance to breathe and get back on track.

 

We’re also hoping to have another Google+ hangout with Mylee, Kathryn, Jan, Kate, and myself – and perhaps Michael Stephens – either next week or the following week so keep an eye out for the date and time of that.
