Week 2

Dear everyone,

Welcome to Week 2 of ANZ 23 Mobile Things! We hope you enjoyed exploring Twitter in Week 1; here’s a short list of the major content from last week:

We also set up a public Google doc for people to share useful Twitter #hashtags for library and information related information; please check it out and add in your ideas!

This week we are exploring taking photos on a mobile device – this should be exciting!

What’s happening this week…

Begin with exploring Kim Tairi’s excellent introduction post to this topic – this provides lots of information to get you started with your exploration this week.

We are also holding a Twitter chat on Thursday, 16th May, 2013 at 9PM (NZ) & 7PM (AEST) so we hope you will be able to join us for that. We will publish a list of the questions we will be discussing on the blog a couple of days before. You can participate by logging into Twitter at that time and using the hashtag #anz23mthings in all your tweets. You just need to search #anz23mthings in the search box up the top so you can follow the conversation. Check out this blog post for some more information, and don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions. If you can’t make this time, feel free to answer the questions using #anz23mthings at any other time.

What should I do this week?

Coming up…

Next week is e-mail on the move; this should be something we are all familiar with, but I’m sure we will discover some new aspect to use in our personal and professional lives!

As always, don’t forget to check us out online regularly so that you don’t miss out on all the interaction that is going on!

If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail either myself or Kate – we’d love to hear from you.

Have a great week!

Abigail Willemse (New Professionals NZ) & Kate Freedman (ALIA NGAC)

P.S. We are experiencing difficulty e-mailing this to a number of people on the list; particularly a few from Auckland Libraries. If your colleague is doing this course and hasn’t received this e-mail, could you please forward it onto them? Thanks!
